Shirley K. Sullivan Grants for Co-op Communicators

All active cooperative communicators are eligible to apply for grants, with preference given to those demonstrating a history of, or interest in, active CCA involvement.

Educational programs eligible for funding include, but are not limited to, CCA Institute and professional development workshops, national cooperative education programs and other opportunities which advance skills and knowledge in the field of cooperative communications.

Grant size/number of grants offered will be based on need, merit, and amount of funding available.

Individuals may receive a grant no more frequently than once per calendar year. An organization may receive a grant in two successive years, but must then wait a year before applying again.

Upon completion of the education program, awardees must submit a brief report on the value of their educational experience.

Should a recipient be unable to participate in a program for which a grant was received, the Fund will work with the recipient to determine if the grant must be returned or may be designated for an alternative eligible program.

The Shirley K. Sullivan Fund was established in 1998 by The Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) in memory of Shirley Sullivan, a senior editor at Southern States Cooperative and dedicated CCA member. The purpose of the Fund is to promote the professional development of cooperative communicators. The Fund does this through educational grants to attend professional development seminars or classes and other leadership development activities.
